Upon arrival at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, a friendly representative of Azerbaijan Travel International will greet you with warm hospitality and assist with your transfer to your selected hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. From this moment on, your holiday is in our hands.
Once you settle in, you can already begin to feel the dynamic pulse of Baku — a city where East meets West, tradition meets innovation, and every corner tells a story. Spend the evening at leisure: visit nearby cafés, try local pastries, or take a stroll along the illuminated Caspian Sea boulevard.

Day 2: Baku City Tour – From Modern Marvels to Ancient Walls

Your exploration begins in the vibrant heart of Baku, where modernity and history coexist in remarkable harmony. Start with a visit to the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to Azerbaijan’s prominent figures, including the legendary singer Muslim Magomayev. Continue to Highland Park for breathtaking views of the Flame Towers, Baku Bay, and the city skyline.
Then enjoy a walk along the seaside boulevard, pass through Little Venice, and admire the Soviet-era Government House and the ultra-modern Heydar Aliyev Center — an architectural masterpiece designed by Zaha Hadid.

For lunch, enjoy traditional Azerbaijani cuisine featuring the flavorful “saj” at the charming Old Garden restaurant in the Old City.

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in Baku’s rich history in the UNESCO-listed Old City (Icherisheher). With your professional guide, explore landmarks such as the Maiden Tower, the ruins of St. Bartholomew’s Chapel, historic hammams, caravanserais, and the magnificent Palace of the Shirvanshahs. Walk along the ancient fortress walls and visit the filming location of a famous scene from the classic Soviet film The Diamond Arm.

Day 3: Gobustan & Absheron – Land of Fire and Ancient Echoes

Today you will dive into Azerbaijan’s deep past and natural wonders. Begin at the Gobustan State Historical and Artistic Reserve, home to over 6,000 ancient petroglyphs depicting scenes of prehistoric life, hunting, and rituals. These carvings, along with Roman inscriptions, offer a fascinating glimpse into early human expression.

Weather permitting, visit Azerbaijan’s famous mud volcanoes — a unique lunar-like landscape bubbling with geothermal activity.

After a traditional Azerbaijani lunch, continue to the Absheron Peninsula. Visit Ateshgah Fire Temple, once a sacred site for Zoroastrians, Hindus, and Sikhs. Then head to Yanardag, the “Burning Mountain,” where natural gas flames blaze continuously from the hillside.

Day 4: Shamakhi & Gabala – Mountains, Mosques & Scenic Beauty

Travel west into the historical and picturesque regions of Azerbaijan. Your first stop is Shamakhi, where you will visit the Juma Mosque — the first mosque in the Caucasus, built in 743 AD. A symbol of resilience, it has withstood earthquakes and wars.

After a delightful forest lunch in Ismayilli featuring kebabs, plov, and tea from a traditional samovar, continue to Nohur Lake. Its tranquil turquoise waters reflect the peaks of the Greater Caucasus Mountains and offer a peaceful retreat, along with opportunities to purchase local honey, dried fruits, and Lankaran tea.

Next, visit the beautiful Yeddi Gozel (“Seven Beauties”) Waterfall hidden in the forests of Gabala — a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers.

End the day with a scenic cable car ride at Tufandag Mountain Resort, ascending over 2,000 meters for panoramic views of Mount Bazarduzu. In the evening, arrive in Sheki and check in at the elegant Sheki Palace Hotel.

Day 5: Sheki Heritage Tour – Palaces, Churches & Silk Road Echoes

Begin your day with a visit to Kish Church — once a pagan temple and later one of the earliest Christian churches in the Caucasus.

Continue to the Palace of the Sheki Khans, an 18th-century architectural gem famous for its intricate frescoes and exquisite shebeke stained glass crafted without nails or glue.

Explore the 17th-century caravanserai, an important stop along the Silk Road, and stroll through local markets where you can shop for Sheki silk, handmade textiles, jewelry, and the city’s famous halva.

Enjoy a traditional Sheki lunch featuring “piti” — slow-cooked lamb stew served in clay pots — along with choban salad and soft drinks.

End the day at the World War II Memorial Park with panoramic city views before returning to Baku for an overnight stay.

Day 6: Guba & Khinalug – Highland Villages & Timeless Traditions

Today’s journey takes you north into the mountains of Guba to the remote village of Khinalug. Along the way, stop at Beshbarmaq Mountain and the sacred site Pir Khidir Zinda. Pass through the enchanting Gachresh Forest, where trees arch overhead and the Gudyalchay River flows alongside the road.

Travel through the dramatic Gudyalchay Gorge, known for its towering cliffs and geological beauty.

Visit Khinalug — one of the highest and oldest continuously inhabited villages in the world, located at 2,100 meters above sea level. Surrounded by eagles, wild horses, and mountain peaks, you will experience its unique stone architecture and ancient traditions.

Day 7: Leisure Day in Baku – Relax, Explore & Rediscover

Return to Baku for a day of leisure. Revisit your favorite spots in the Old City, walk along the Caspian Sea promenade, or explore local markets for souvenirs and handicrafts.

Enjoy a relaxing meal in a café, try Azerbaijani sweets such as pakhlava, or unwind in a traditional hammam. This free day allows you to experience Baku at your own pace and reflect on your journey.
